US import duty calculator

Estimate duty on a US import: customs value x your HS-code duty rate, plus Merchandise Processing Fee and Harbor Maintenance Fee for ocean freight. Rates change with trade policy - verify your HS code rate at hts.usitc.gov before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my duty rate?

Identify your product's HS code (10-digit HTS code for the US), then look up the rate at hts.usitc.gov. Additional Section 301 or other tariffs may apply on top of the base rate for goods from certain countries - check the current status before every order, as these change.

What are MPF and HMF?

Merchandise Processing Fee: 0.3464% of customs value (with minimum and maximum caps per entry). Harbor Maintenance Fee: 0.125% of value, ocean shipments only. Both are charged by US customs in addition to duty.

Is there duty-free treatment for small shipments?

De minimis rules for low-value shipments have changed repeatedly in recent years and vary by origin country. Do not build a business model on de minimis assumptions without checking the current rule.
